On the 19th May 2024 we'd raised £1,100 with 44 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

Hello!!  Because you are all amazing people we have reached our original target of £1000 target to help get the centre up and running!!!  Myself and Glyn have been working hard evenings and weekends to get the work done and we are really getting somewhere now!  The plastering outside the centre is now completed so we are hoping our electrics go in this week then we can really get cracking!

I've now added a stretch fund because we still have a couple of fundraisers that are live - some of the kiddos are doing a sponsored hike and some others are doing a sponsored snowboard/ski. Any extra funds will go directly towards equipment for the centre to get our science club and Photography up and running. This will include microscopes, cameras, photography equipment, electronics kits and other experiment equipment.

We really do appreciate you all and i honestly can't believe how generous you have all been <3 You are all amazing!

My name is Sarah and I run Nurture My Nature CIC which is a not-for-profit children's community group offering educational opportunities in a unique way.

Anyone who knows me knows how much this project means to me and how much work and planning has gone into it (even taking on a second job to ensure the project has enough funds to take off!) because I really do want the children in our area to have every single door opened for them in their lives and I will do my upmost to ensure that this happens.  Just in case you don't know me or the project here is a little background...

In 2023 I decided to expand my current business which has operated since 2018.  It started with me being an OFSTED registered childminder and then as i completed more qualifications, it grew to offering educational day trips all around the North West.  I decided that I wanted to be able to reach a larger number of children and families in my local area and I have now been lucky enough to secure a premises in the amazing, historical Spinners Mill in Leigh.  With it's ideal location (close to the East Lancs and on direct bus routes from Leigh, Wigan, Manchester and Trafford) this allows us to reach children from miles around.

Our vision is to have a safe space for all children to attend to follow their interests and to explore new ones, particularly things which may not always be available to them otherwise.  Now that we have secured our premises, this is where we need some help!  So far the project has been entirely self funded by myself because i truly believe it will be such an amazing asset to the children in our community and I know that we have so much to offer them here.  We are looking to raise funds to ensure that our centre can open as quickly as possible with a goal of Summer 2024!  100% of any funds raised will go to the centre and it's opening, then anything after that will go into funding children's groups and activities.

NMN will be offering multiple cross-curricular sessions ranging from home education topic sessions, science clubs, book clubs, after school clubs, theme park visits, photography club, monthly workshops, day trips, construction clubs, BSL, bushcraft skills, local nature sessions and something I am very proud of - 'The Village' - a social meet for parents and their children to meet, chat and find like minded friends in their local area.  The list of sessions we have to offer really is very extensive but the common theme with the sessions is nature, the world around us and hands on learning.  By being able to keep our sessions small we find that this has a really positive impact on the kids and is a perfect setting for all children including those who are a little anxious of busy spaces, or for any SEN children.

Please visit our Facebook page and Instagram account to keep up to date with our progress and please, please, please donate.  Even if you can spare a pound this will really help us to reach our target and get us up and running as soon as possible!
