Nova's scans

Aim: Nova has had a lifetime of vet visits due to an unknown illness she is only 2 and has been through so much in this short time.

 When my friend was getting Nova as a puppy, she was told she was a pedigree and that she would receive all of the paperwork for her, this never happened despite messages to the breeders. However from around 6 months old Nova became very unwell she started headbutting and snapping at things and had to have various tests and be seen by specialists who wanted to have her put to sleep. 

My friend managed to get some support with this diagnosis and Nova was put on medication that was successful in helping these neurological problems. Since then Nova has had various other tests for gut related issues and poorly spells as well as seeing other specialists.

 Unfortunately in the last few months Nova has lost a significant amount of weight going from 14kg to 9.8Kg this has been a drastic drop considering she eats and drinks so well. 

Nova has been for multiple tests and scans which have not showed anything other than inflammation, she had a scan the other day which finally showed some signs of severe inflammation in her gut and the lymph nodes around this area. 

Nova has been on a lot more medication and steroids to try to alleviate the problems however she is still drastically loosing weight. 

Nova is due to be seen by a specialist as the vets are very concerned that there is something more serious going on to cause this. 

Nova is insured however because she has been so poorly she has used all of her insurance premium in the last 8 months, the estimation for the specialist appointment and MRI scan is around £4,000. 

At the moment my friend is having to think about having her best friend,  who is only a year old put to sleep because she cannot afford the scans and help she needs. 

My friend has worked so hard over the last year with Nova and spent lots of time and money trying to get her healthy! 

Nova is a very happy lively little girl and is loved so much by her mummy and her dog sister, and my friend feels so guilty and heartbroken she doesn’t want to have to make a choice to put her puppy to sleep because of money. 

She would never ask for help like this but she is desperate for some help and support to ensure Nova can get the best medical care she needs and live a happy and healthy life.
