Jan's (not quite the MatterHORN) mountain concert
We did it
On 21st December 2021 we successfully raised £864 ( + est. £55.00 Gift Aid ) with 30 supporters in 28 days

To support community music making and ensure the tradition of brass banding continues to thrive.

A group from Blackburn & Darwen will be scaling and traversing the peak of Pendle Hill on Saturday 11th December! We will start at 11:30 at the Barley car park (base camp) with plenty of Christmas carols at the café. From here we will make our way to the top, and play more carols at the pubs. If you would like to hear your favourite carol and for us to send you a recording from the top, please pledge £5 on this page and leave a comment with your request!

If you would like to join us on this trek and hear your carol LIVE, you are more than welcome to come along!

We'll be climbing a mountain (or large hill) in aid of Blackburn & Darwen's Big Tuba Appeal. A new tuba will enable Blackburn & Darwen brass band to continue playing at a top level, whilst ensuring amateur music continues within the community.

Any donation towards this cause will be gratefully appreciated by the band. To demonstrate my thanks, for every £10 donation, I will play any tune of your choice from the top of the mountain. I will record these requests and share them on a video hosting website for you...whatever the weather!

If you do decide to donate, please leave a message with your request!
