On the 29th November 2024 we'd raised £230 with 9 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Led by the Brighton Toy and Model Museum, this initiative aims to revitalise the upper section of Trafalgar Street, transforming it into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly gateway to the North Laine. Currently, the area is plagued by boarded-up arches and graffiti, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Our vision is to restore this space, installing beautiful ornamental framed glasswork reminiscent of the interwar years, bringing charm, safety, and historical value back to this historic area.
This section of Trafalgar Street holds significant historical importance, dating back to 1841, when it served as a bustling entrance for travellers visiting Brighton. Over time, however, the area has suffered from neglect and decay. By revitalising it, we can restore its heritage and make it a welcoming entrance for locals and visitors.
Our regeneration project includes:
Your contribution will go directly toward these restoration efforts, covering the installation of the framed glasswork and supporting the preservation and upkeep of the area. Every pound donated brings us one step closer to restoring this piece of Brighton’s rich heritage.
Join us in making Trafalgar Street a beautiful, welcoming hub for the community and a vibrant entrance to North Laine once again.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
