Your support makes a difference

Aim: We are raising money to expand our support services for vulnerable young people and families with complex needs, providing safe housing.

We are Rising Ohana’s CIC, a community-led organisation founded by a woman with lived experience and a deep passion for creating change. Our mission is to support vulnerable young people and families — especially those facing mental health challenges, learning difficulties, substance misuse, and trauma — by providing safe, nurturing environments where they can be truly seen, supported, and guided. There is a great and urgent need for our younger generation to receive the right support in the right setting. Through tailored assessments, life-skills training, and financial wellbeing programmes, we help them rebuild trust, develop independence, and move toward a future filled with hope and stability.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We’re crowdfunding to support vulnerable young people, families, and expectant mothers who face some of the toughest barriers in life — from complex learning needs and SEN, to substance misuse, trauma, and emotional struggles. Without the right support in place, their futures remain uncertain. This funding will help us deliver targeted life skills sessions, budgeting support, and vital outreach work — all within a safe, nurturing environment. Our aim is to give them the tools, guidance, and confidence they need to function in society, build independence, and engage positively in their communities.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money we raise will go directly toward building a safe and supportive foundation for vulnerable young people, families, and expectant mothers. Here’s how the £10,000 will be used:

  • £5,000 – To help secure a suitable premises where we can run our sessions and provide a nurturing environment for those we support

  • £2,000 – To cover the cost of Ofsted registration, enabling us to become a regulated service and expand our reach

  • £1,500 – To deliver outreach support, including travel costs for home visits and community-based engagement

  • £1,500 – For essential resources and materials, including learning packs, wellbeing tools, and activity supplies
