Skybound are a not for profit sport club. Whose ethos is to nurture everyone’s passion for trampolining.
We have been established for over thirty years and we have support everyone’s passion from recreational to coaching European competitors. It is a not for profit club as we want everyone to have the same love for trampolining as us. The club is predominantly based in folkestone which is in an area of high deprivation.
On average we have about 70 members and 30 on a waiting list. Our current members range from 4 to over 44 ( we can’t give their age away!). The club has a real family feel and for our squad members this is really important as the travel together supporting each other at national events.
At these national events they have newer trampolines and the competitors instantly notice the difference. So it would be great to have a new trampoline so they can train on the same. But also for our recreational members to feel the difference and see the heights they can reach too.
We want all our trampolinist to reach their full potential and this trampoline will make a huge difference for all our members but also the community access to a wonderful piece of equipment which is olympic standard.
During COVID our reserve funds were used to keep the club open but also cover the cost of additional cleaning equipment. Not everyone returned straight away so the club covered any sessions not financially viable. Owing to this we are relying on the generosity of the community to support this project which will have an enormous impact.
By having this new trampoline it will allow the development of the club and facilitate them to continue to support the local community by keeping the fees competitive. Without your support the only way the club could afford to fund a new trampoline is through significantly raising fees which they do not want to do.
Caitlin aged 13: Skybound have been so supportive and the club have travelled many miles so I can compete nationally. Their passion for trampolining is infectious. I just love it. In recognition of the commitment shown to sport I received the young sportsperson of the year award 2021 for Tunbridge Wells, Kent. this was thanks to Skybound and their commitment to me.
Clearly like many places the club has been affected by the pandemic, as no fees came the club could not put more money aside for purchases. The restart costs were significant for the club and they were keen not to pass this on to its members' as a result dipped into their reserves.
Once the money has been raised we will purchase a new trampoline for the club which will be placed at folkestone sports centre trust which is in an area of high deprivation. Want to know more about what we want to purchase follow this link https://www.eurotramp.com/en/products/ultimate/accessories
