To develop a further play therapy space for children, families and young people.

by Cudox Wellbeing in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

Who are we?

Cudox is a community interest company providing counselling and therapy services in Grimsby and surrounding areas. We are a team of dedicated therapists specialised in delivering therapy to children and young people, adults and families.

What do we do?

At Cudox we strive to make therapy accessible to everyone through providing funding options where possible, to decrease the financial burden that therapy can bring, when statutory services don't not meet needs or are not available. We do this by continually applying for funding from funders such as Children In Need, National Lottery and smaller local funders.

We work from our therapy building in Grimsby town centre, where we have dedicated therapy rooms with a homely and relaxed feel.

What do we need?

We currently have one play therapy room and limited resources at present.

Due to a huge increase in demand for children needing to access therapy in the local area, often those whose family are not able to fund private therapy, we are needing to create an additional play and creative therapy room to ensure we can deliver the experience that these children deserve.

We have not been able to gain funding for this due to available funding been more limited than usual because of the financial climate at present.

What will we use these funds for?

We would like to change our existing play room into a combined play and creative room and add a further room, designed in the same way, in addition to being able to provide sensory areas within both these area.

How will this benefit children in the local community?

This will enable more than one therapist to deliver sessions to children and families in need at any one time, increasing our capacity to make our services accessible enough to meet with demand.

It would also provide improved experience of therapy for children, adding further resources, such as sensory areas and further play therapy equipment.
