Who are we?
Bounce Back Basketball is an exciting community project with a clear goal to bring three brand-new, free-to-use outdoor basketball courts to the heart of Stanley Park. These courts will be in a fantastic spot next to the tennis courts, the clock tower, and the athletics stadium, creating a lively hub for sport and socialising.
The old basketball courts, once a popular gathering place in Stanley Park, have been out of action for years. They’ve fallen into disrepair and can’t be restored. While rebuilding them by the skate park isn’t an option due to drainage issues, the new location is even better - easy to reach, highly visible, and right at the centre of the park’s activity.
The plans include two full-size adult courts built to FIBA specifications and a full-size junior court designed for younger players, ensuring there’s space for everyone to enjoy the game and develop their skills.
The space for the Old Courts
The space for the 'New Basketball Courts'
The new courts are set to be in a prime location next to the tennis courts and athletic stadium, it has great visibility for guests to the park and there is a large amount of passing foot traffic.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The space is secured and ready to go, but we need your support to bring it to life. We're raising funds through local and national government grants, sponsorships, crowdfunding and backing from sports organisations and charities dedicated to community sport, health, and wellbeing.
We’re inviting organisations to sponsor a court, with the opportunity to design and brand it in a way that reflects their values. If you’re interested in something bigger, we’re also open to one organisation sponsoring all three courts. For that, we’d love to see a bold, creative vision that brings the courts together with a unique design and branding that truly connects with the community.

How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised is going directly to the construction of the three outdoor courts.
Community impact
Just as the old basketball courts did in the 90's and 00's the new outdoor basketball courts will give young people and the community a great place to stay active, make friends, and feel more connected. With Stanley Park being in a central location it's easily accessible by most parts of the town.
The courts will be available for schools to host events and there will be 3v3 and 5v5 games and junior competitions/tournaments throughout the year. Events like these will attract even more young people. We are also looking to host wheelchair basketball events. For many, playing on these courts is just the beginning. Some may go on to join local basketball groups such as Blackpool Juniors, Fylde Fire & Wrea Green Wolves.
Blackpool faces many challenges as it heads into 2025, but a space like this could really make a difference. It could help reduce crime and antisocial behaviour by giving people something better to do and just as importantly bring the community closer together.
