Having worked with older people I have unfortunately found abuse of the elderly to be more common than one would imagine, especially emotional and financial. Often the victims will not speak out as the perpetrators are members of their own family or people supposed to be caring for them. To have somewhere to go to get support and help is so important which is why this programme is invaluable.
