Aim: To buy a site we identified 2 years ago to convert in to a Day Centre for adults with intellectual (learning) disability.
Journey Enterprises provides Day Services for 160 adults with learning (intellectual) disability at four Day Centres in the north east. We support conditions such as Down's, Williams, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi and Smith Magenis. Clients come to us to develop life and work skills and to manage health & wellbeing. Founded 43 years ago, we were chosen by the House of Lords as providing 'best practice' in our Sector. This site will let us move our lovely but rural Acomb site (NE46 4SA) on to a bustling High Street presence. This will support Clients to be more visible in the community, to make the most of the opportunities and partnerships in Prudhoe, and to be more accessible for transportation to and from Day Service and around the area.
The site comes up for auction on 1st April. We would like to raise funds to enable us to make an offer at auction.
