Aim: We showcase curated products for the disability community, by bringing together innovative brands, to inspire people to express themselves

When I acquired my disability at the age of 37 following multiple strokes, I felt I lost so much of my personality. I was restricted to unfashionable shoes that fitted my orthotic, underwear I could put on with one hand and grey walking sticks provided by the hospital. I spent hours researching and trying to claw back a little bit more of me.

After acquiring my disability, I discovered an unexpected source of confidence. What we wear can shift our mood, change how we see ourselves, and even how others see us. That’s the power of dopamine dressing, the intentional use of bright, bold colours to spark joy and boost self-esteem.

When learning to walk again and having to go out with what I perceived as something for the elderly was really hard. It made me feel so self-conscious when people stared as I learnt to walk again. I searched online and got a couple more sticks from Amazon but still I didn’t feel completely comfortable with those either.

I then discovered bright custom sticks and I instantly loved them and got a few different designs. All of them turned heads too, but this time for the right reasons. I got so many compliments every day, they made me feel stable, comfortable and more confident.

Researching brands and options can be really time consuming and tiring so my aim is to bring these brands to the forefront, saving you time and effort and empowering you to show your true colours.

I continue to research and curate brands I’ve identified that align with our values and are certainly never grey. So far I have 44 brands and I don't plan to stop. I'd love to develop the site further to have more brands, guest blogs, product gallery and even a shop so people can buy their make up, dress, shoes and walking stick all from the same place. The complete outfit. Plus a podcast for me to chat to all these wonderful creators who have very little marketing to have a stage to amplify their products to the disabled community.
