Aim: The aim of Project NeuroClean is to provide compassionate, judgement-free cleaning and decluttering support to women and families in crisis

Our Story

NeuroClean is one of the first community support projects launched by Harbour Her CIC, a grassroots organisation based in Pembrokeshire. Harbour Her CIC was created to empower women and girls with the support, skills, and confidence to thrive; especially those affected by trauma, poverty, neurodivergence, disability or life instability.

The idea for NeuroClean came directly from lived experience. Our founder, Laura, understands how hard it can be to function, let alone clean, when you're overwhelmed, grieving, burnt out, disabled, or neurodivergent. She saw the need for a service that didn’t just clean homes, but supported people with dignity, patience, and compassion.

We need to raise money to sponsor crisis cleans, as well as regular cleans for our most vulnerable clients. We also want to be able to buy furniture, appliances, and home furnishings for those who need it most, to make their homes as functional, comfortable and safe as we possibly can.

So many people are judged for struggling with clutter or cleanliness. But behind closed doors, there are women recovering from abuse, managing ADHD, living with chronic illness, or trying to hold a household together in survival mode. Our NeuroClean project exists to meet them where they are, without shame, and gently help them move forward.

Since launching, we've supported clients privately - those who’ve bravely reached out on their own. But we want to help people for free. Every clean is person-centered and tailored to the pace and capacity of the person we're supporting.

This isn’t just about mops and hoovers, it’s about hope, empowerment, and the chance to start again.
