I write this on Annette's first day of chemo.
While we don't know exactly how it is going to effect her yet, there's no doubt that it is going to be a rough road ahead. I think there are things we can club together as her work family and buy her to make this treatment more comfortable.
This list is not exhaustive, so please let me know if you have any ideas of your own.
-An Oodie (customised with a flap to access her picc line on her arm) ~£60
-A Netflix subscription for one year ~£60
-An Audible subscription for one year ~£70
-Some reading glasses customised so she can read but it won't effect her wearing of a cold cap ~£20
-Water bottle (Camelbak) ~£10 (she's a stickler for quality while staying hydrated).
-Potential for a contribution towards a wig. She will have £100 given to her towards this, but a wig can cost several hundred pounds.
-Finally, if there is money left over, money towards a BBQ. Annette has told me that one of her aims through all of this will be to host a BBQ in her own garden (in a new home) on her 50th birthday. Let's help her with that aim.
Here next cycle is in 3 weeks time, it'd be great to have some of this ready to go for her then.
