Here at Doncaster Foodbank, we don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. To get a food parcel a person will apply for a voucher from one of our many referral partners including, Citizens Advice, Doncaster Council or Help through Hardship. Demand continues to increase and more emergency food than ever before is needed. We have 3 foodbanks in Doncaster (St James Church, Hexthorpe: St Paul's Church, Wheatley and Rossington Community Baptist Church) and a warehouse in Kirk Sandall where food donations are stored then distributed to the various sessions.

This picture profile is of Neil who manages the warehouse. Our van is 10 years old and too small for the job because of Increased demand which means Neil makes multiple journeys back and forth to the Foodbanks every week. It's inefficient and costly. We urgently need a bigger van. Last year we provided 8485 emergency food parcels, of which 2758 were for children. It's a heartbreaking but essential service that Doncaster Foodbank provides.
We need to raise £10,000 towards a used bigger van so that Neil makes fewer journeys to get food to where it is urgently needed. We are calling this campaign #Neilswheels. Please help us make this happen. Any donation large or small we appreciate so much.
