Since 2018, the Neighbourhood Project has been delivering training in the Bradford area to raise awareness of how people can take positive action in their communities and contribute towards local regeneration and improvements.  We have run a variety of programmes including on community rights and neighbourhood devolution, healthy neighbourhoods, economic regeneration and environmental sustainability.  Each has covered examples of successful projects elsewhere, has been informal and interactive, and delivered in community venues targeting areas of high deprivation.

After each training session, we have offered coaching to individuals and small groups with ideas from the training to help them turn these into a reality.  This has resulted in a large number of spin-off projects and our website www.neighbourhoodproject.org.uk has further details of this including case studies.

We now wish to deliver a new programme focusing on how neighbourhoods can achieve net zero which will cover mutliple topics including local and organic food growing; community composting; eco-housing; community-owned renewables; dealing with 'hard to recycle' waste; and decarbonising transport.  This will be delivered in a central venue in Bradford with the aim of then supporting a new generation of green spin-off initiatives to work towards net zero.

The funds we raise with this crowdfunder will pay for the costs of the venue, advertisement of the programme to get people to come to the sessions, and expenses for our volunteers such as travel costs.
