We have been running Nature Club on Saturdays at Springfield Park next to Alder Hey since April. The sessions have been a big hit with children & families from the local community who’ve loved spending time in nature, enjoying crafts and growing veggies together. Sadly we’ve run out of funds so we need help to keep these sessions going for the kids who get so much out of them week after week.
‘£5 will pay for 2 local kids and their parents to attend one of our Nature Club sessions and any amount that you can spare us will honestly be hugely appreciated.’
Who we are:
We are Strengthening Wellbeing Together CIC - a Community Interest Company created to support the wellbeing and mental health of all children and families in Merseyside, via a range of services and activities.
We believe that ALL local children and families should be supported to thrive. We believe that our great region could lead the way in promoting wellbeing.
What’s the Nature for Wellbeing Project & why are we crowdfunding?:
We created Nature Club as a way to support the mental health & wellbeing of children & families through the recent covid crisis and beyond.
Many parents have approached us to say that their children are feeling anxious and would benefit from extra support. We want to help local kids overcome their worries and connect to their innate resilience by providing engaging, supportive, mindful workshops outside in nature. This is an awesome way to support their wellbeing, using tried and tested strengths-based methods, in the transition from lockdown.
Sessions take place in community gardens and parks and include activities that support mental health & wellbeing, including; kids mindfulness activities, nature themed crafts, positive art rock painting, gardening, kids yoga stretches, storytelling, simple meditation. We share wellbeing techniques and skills that participants can take forward to support their mental health in the future.
Your kind contribution to this crowdfunder will help us to keep Nature Club running so that we can continue to support local children & families in a way that really works.
