Daisy's University Tuition Fundraiser.

Hello, my name is Namuyiga Maria Daisy pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mass communication at  a University in Kampala, Uganda with an emphasis in News anchoring and presentation. I have a passion for journalism and look forward to sharing my knowledge with young learners as I enter the field of Mass communication and begin working as a classroom teacher.

At an early age I wanted to work as an educator aligned with the objectives of the Butterfly project from the moment I set my foot in the project premises.

I loved every minute of the time in the project, from exploring new topics to building strong confidence skills and collaborating with other children at the project.

Participating in the project work is something that am very passionate about.

I currently stay in a slum area called Kisenyi in Mengo, where I help other children gain study skills, they need to succeed in life. l find the work very rewarding and consider it to be a wonderful experience that will help prepare me for the future. During my time in Kisenyi Slums, l serve as a volunteer tutor, helping children in lower levels master their school work and writing skills.

In addition, through watching movies and playing different games with the children both at the Butterfly Project and at home, the children get to open up to me during their struggles and worry - that's where l guide and offer them advice as l inspire them to focus on their education and dreams.

I am an active member of the Mengo Youth Club, where l  participate in various service projects with locals in the community together with the leaders.

I have chaired a successful book drive in which 200 children’s books were donated to local school pupils.

I come from a humble family therefore they can't afford my tuition fees at the university, l call upon your help.

I currently need £603 to enable me continue with my dream course at the university. This money will cover tuition for one semester.
