Hello, my name is Rosie Gatenby-Ladds. I am 11 years old, and I live in Kirton, Lincolnshire.
I first started training with Boston Triathlon Club when I was 5 years old and took part in my first race that year.
Since then, I have taken part in lots of triathlons around the country. I now compete in the East Midlands Regional Junior Series. I won this race series in my first year. This series takes me to races in Derby, Leicestershire and Nottingham on a regular basis.
I have also been fortunate enough to race twice in Canary Wharf, London alongside professionals such as Jonny Brownlee, Alex Yee and my idol Georgia Taylor-Brown.
I have recently achieved this years objective of qualifying for the East Midlands Triathlon team. This will hopefully give me the platform to help me achieve my ultimate objective which is to represent Great Britain at the Olympics.
I have always loved racing and I am very competitive. I have won every one of my school cross country competitions which involves several schools locally. I finished 3rd overall in the Lincolnshire cross country Championship last year and I trained/represented Boston Amateur Swim Club. I also train with the Boston Wheelers bike club.
Triathlon is a very expensive sport and as I mentioned, I have big ambitions to go far in the sport. I am currently using lots of second hand equipment due to costs which have helped me get this far. I use my step dads bike helmet as I had grown out of mine, my bike is a second hand one which needed repair.
For me to be able to compete at the next level against some of the other athletes nationally, I need to try and raise funds.
Below are some of my medals to date...
