Life Music Northants enhances life through music by the provision of music spaces, which provide opportunities for its clients facing economic challenges and those with varying needs. Activities in our workshops include learning songs, song writing, makaton, (a teaching strategy to help hearing people with learning or communication difficulties) exploring instruments, improvisation and working together. The primary objective is to engage them and discover their potential in a welcoming, fun and friendly environment. Some of our case studies reflect these outcomes from previous workshops.
Life Music’s approach has been successful in bringing out confidence, balance and a sense of achievement with a wide range of clients since the organisation was founded. Our vision is to expand and continue providing music spaces in North Northampton and West Northampton. We have connections with Community Spaces Northampton, Autism East Midlands, Daisy Chain, Lyndsey House, Olympus Care Services and The Cube Disability.
The parents/carers of our clients who attended in previous music spaces would like to see a continuation of these activities. This is reflected by some of the feedback we receive on social media and/or questionnaires. It will help us to monitor our progress and remain open to new ideas/suggestions.
The money raised will be used to support community venues, the continuation of music space projects and support local businesses in wake of the increase in the cost of living. Also the hiring warm spaces for the activities and keeping musical instruments in good condition. Publicity for events and transportation of instruments. Our music projects provide fulfilment, future opportunities as well as being communal activities in heated spaces. This contributes to the quality of an affordable life in the current economic climate.
