Music Practice Rooms

Aim: To help raise money for Bridgemary school to be able to build practice rooms

Bridgemary School is a Secondary School located in Gosport for 11-16 years old. Three years ago, Bridgemary school re-introduced music back onto the curriculum after five years without lessons.

Music was placed in two rooms that were spare at the time in order to get music back as soon as possible and for the students to have a rich and well-rounded curriculum. This included one classroom and one practice area.

Practice rooms will allow students to practise individually as well for Bridgemary to have peripatetic teachers to help improve the student's confidence and skills on their chosen instrument.

The aim of this project is to raise money to help fund two pop soundproof rooms. This can ensure that Key stage Four students are able to focus and improve their skills.

We have been working hard in showcases and participating in upcoming events such as sponsored silences, waxing of teachers' legs, and a four-hour musicathon.

Within the short time of starting at Bridgemary, music has now become a big part of the school's culture. I want to keep growing the importance of music, and I truly believe having practice rooms will enhance the student's experience and confidence.
