How the Mothers Messages Water Project Came About

Rev Mother Liz had a calling to ordination since she was 19 years old and it took her 47 years to become ordained a priest with the Independent Catholic Church in 2022. Soon after this she was asked to be Prioress of an order now called the "Ave Maria Carmelite Order'. Belonging to this order are some orphans, young priests and nuns led by Bishop John Musonge in Uganda. We meet regularly to pray the Rosary and Centering Prayer together on Zoom. We discovered that this Orphanage and Monastery were struggling with illness and survival due to poverty, lack of food and in particular fresh water.

Rev Liz felt called by God to use this new book, about her mission to raise awareness of the Divine Femininity of God, that was published on 24 December, 2024, to raise some funds for Bishop John and his orphans and street children in Uganda.

St. Zachariah Orphanage Home is situated in a suburb, Ndongo Village community that has suffered for a long time due to lack of clean and safe water. This community and other three surrounding villages are all facing the same challenges. They fetch water from rain ponds, shared by animals and these ponds have acted as mosquito breeding grounds causing Malaria, Typhoid and Cholera. As a result the community is facing strong poverty and terrible hunger.

The most affected category of people in this community are women and girl child who are culturally believed to be the only people supposed to collect water for domestic use where if one girl child lives in a family of eight brothers, she has to collect water at whatever distance for all the family to us
In dry seasons , they walk miles looking for water early mornings to fear long lines waiting to fill their jerry cans. As a result they face being attacked and abused by faithless gangs. Many women in this village and the neighbouring communities as well have contracted HIV/AIDS , STDS and Syphilis due to this. Bishop John has registered 31 children 17 girls and 14 boys, aged 5-13 yrs, to be moved to his care.

 *HUMBLE APPEAL*
Bishop John Humbly requests for support to locally drill a borehole to serve and save more than 16000 lives. We are able to get local drillers at a reasonable cost compared to using drilling machines that are too costly.

*WHY WATER PROJECT IS VIABLE*
Reasons water project is proposed is because of all the challenges faced by these children and to avoid future generations facing the same. If helped to have a borehole drilled, it will have two main supply taps one to be within the orphanage village location and near the orphanage and the second in between the three villages surrounding the orphanage village Community.
We will be able to plant 500 trees to help conserve the environment for rainfall formation as well.
With this project, lives will be saved. There will be less drought, hunger faced by the community and the orphanage garden will be irrigated for food production. The children will be taught how to grow their own food, will learn how to protect the environment by planting trees. This will reduce hospital admissions, children will settle in classes and eat food on time.

RAISING FUNDS WITH REV ELIZABETH'S BOOK

A Ground-breaking Narrative of Faith, Struggle, and Empowerment

Rev Liz's 'Mother God – My Missio Dei' is more than just a novel; it is a powerful, personal testimony of one woman’s unwavering journey to answer her divine calling despite the overwhelming odds stacked against her. Rooted deeply in themes of spirituality, mental health, and women’s rights within the Church, the book presents a bold narrative that challenges long- held traditions and societal expectations, offering readers an inspiring story of transformation and empowerment.

The protagonist of Mother God – My Missio Dei has known from her teenage years that she is called to the priesthood - a sacred calling she is consistently denied by the Church, which refuses to recognise women in this role. As she faces the emotional toll of this constant rejection, the protagonist struggles with her mental health, navigating an inner world of frustration, grief, and hope. Yet, this is not merely a tale of personal hardship; it is one of resolute faith, resilience, and eventual triumph.

Over decades of tireless campaigning and steadfast determination, she finally achieves her dream - becoming a Catholic Woman Priest. And then, against all odds, she rises to become the first woman pope in the Church’s history, sending a powerful message to the world about the transformative potential of belief, persistence, and divine calling. Through this fictional but deeply poignant journey, Rev Liz speaks not only of personal struggle but of the importance of challenging oppressive systems and creating space for women in spiritual leadership.

An Author Who Lives Her Message

Rev Liz is not just a storyteller - she is an advocate for women’s rights within the Church, and her activism shines through in every page of this book. As a member of the Catholic Women’s Ordination (CWO) and the Women’s Ordination Conference (WOC), Rev Liz has fought for years to see women included in sacred roles traditionally dominated by men. This novel is a reflection of her personal mission to dismantle these gender-based barriers within religious institutions.

Through her protagonist’s journey, Rev Liz shares not only the external battle to gain acceptance but the deeply personal toll it takes on the individual.  It is about breaking free from a system that has long denied the spiritual authority of women. The protagonist’s eventual rise to pope is not just a victory for her but for all those who believe in the potential of women to lead with wisdom, grace, and divinely inspired authority.

The Role of Animals: Faith and Healing

A unique and touching element of the novel is the role of animals, particularly assistance dogs and horses, in the protagonist’s spiritual journey. These animals are more than companions— they serve as symbols of faith, support, and unconditional love. Rev Liz draws on her deep understanding of how animals can offer profound emotional healing, showcasing how these bonds with animals parallel the protagonist’s relationship with her divine calling.

The animals in Mother God – My Missio Dei provide the protagonist with a form of spiritual support and grounding when everything else feels uncertain. Their presence is a quiet but steady reminder of the importance of trust, care, and resilience. For Rev Liz, animals represent the nurturing, ever-present love that guides us through life’s challenges, much as faith does.

A Transformative Story of Courage, Faith, and Change

Mother God – My Missio Dei is not just a compelling story - it is a powerful call to action for anyone who has ever questioned their place in the world or the right to live their truth. Rev Liz’s narrative speaks to those who have felt the sting of rejection, the weight of societal expectations, and the courage it takes to follow a calling in the face of adversity.

The money raised on Crowdfunder by selling the book will go to the St Zachariah Orphanage Home in Uganda to pay their water bill and electric bill so they can be switched on again. Also to help them learn to be sustainable by planting their own vegetables in the garden, keeping their own goats for milk and making resources for the Monastery to sell (i.e. Holy Communion Hosts).
