Football's Coming Home!
Whether it's a kick-about in the park, freezing on the sidelines on a Saturday morning, or cheering on your team in a packed stadium, fans of the beautiful game won't need reminding how football has the power to bring us together.
However, for displaced children and youth at Hersham Camp in northern Iraq, football is more than that.
Forced to flee their homes due to violent conflict, these youngsters have lived in this camp for internally displaced persons for nearly a decade. For the 800 children in the camp, the football pitch is the only place they are able to play.
Mosaic coach, Dastan, runs three sessions a week and is no doubt about how important the project is:
"The football project helps keep these children away from bad things such as radicalisation. I care for these children and want to continue helping them.” Dastan says. “They are the next generation.”
