My names Michelle.

I live in Fife, i am a Foster carer and a NA for NHS fife.

I have my child mental health training.

My level 1 and 2 child protection.

I have 2 kids who have both struggled over the years with mental health issues, waiting years for an appointment and diagnosis.

Both my kids have struggled through school with education, lack of support from teachers and severe bullying.

After several meetings at the school it turned out for my kids to be safe they were to stay at home....There is not enough support out there for our youths of today....and this Xmas week alone there has been 3 youths lost there life's to bullies, in just fife alone.

Our aim at Mind Over Matter youth hub is to provide youths a drop in hub where they can drop in anytime and have a chat. Speak about there mental health and find a way forward with support and guidance.

Also a 24hr call line, and an out of hours call out service.

We also have a WHAT MATTERS workshop, where we will allow youths from local school to come and spend a few days a week in our workshop making and creating amazing gifts for us to auction on our WHAT MATTERS FUNDING PAGE.

Our what matters workshop will have different days for different youths.... furniture restoration and wood work shop, Epoxy Resin work shop, and our mod Podge & glitter work shop.

We are also looking to have a....

RAGE ROOM.

PLAY THERAPY ROOM. 

MUSIC THERAPY ROOM. 

AND OUR FITNESS ROOM.

We have already had amazing support from social work, high schools, guidance teachers, be-friender services....AND NOT TO MENTION LOTS OF PARENTS AND YOUTHS THEMSELFS.

WE DO THINK THIS HUB IS GONNA BE A MASSIVE THING FOR THE YOUTHS OF KIRKCALDY, AND THE PARENTS INVOLVED.

Raising these funds will allow us to secure the premises we need to open the hub.

We have everything else, we just need the premises, so every penny raised will be to allow us to gain these premises and get our hub open for 2025.
