Military Museum Scotland

We are a multi award winning museum, established only 5 years ago.We are primarily a museum 100% run by volunteers, most are veterans. We are a unique museum, whereby almost everything can be handled (under supervision). Our schools education programme offer children a real hands on educational experience. We are however so much more than a museum. We are a hub for veterans and operate a number of veterans groups and clubs from our twice monthly Breakfast  Club,  Model Club, & Veterans Shed, to name a few. Veterans pop in daily for a brew and a chat, its a safe haven for all veterans, whether they just need someone to chat with or are looking for more formal help and support, Military Museum Scotland can help by offering an ear or pointing them in the right direction for the support they need. We get no financial support to operate the museum and keep it open, relying on our small entry fees and peoples generosity.  We have been successful in some grant applications, but they are solely for specific projects so can use any to keep us going.
We have continued to grow since we first opened, not only in size but also in popularity. We have something here for everyone. We want and need to expand as we have outgrown our present location. We need your help. The best way to help us is obviously to visit, but that may not be possible for everyone. You can help in so many other ways. Please check out our Facebook page. Over the past week we have sustained a lot of storm damage to our outdoor displays. We have had to temporarily close to carry out much needed repairs. At the moment we do not have spare funds to carry out these repairs. It will be costly, but we need them done asap. Please help if you can. Thanks .
