Aim: £750 target - Community Defibrillator
The Middle of the Hill Community Group has been given an opportunity to get a community defibrillator for our neighbourhood through the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Community Defibrillator Scheme. We have approval from Stroud District Council to install this close to the Community Room and Foodhub at Nouncells Cross. This site has been chosen as it has a mains electricity supply and the area is well lit and covered by CCTV.
According to the British Heart Foundation website 'the immediate delivery of CPR combined with early use of a defibrillator gives a person in cardiac arrest the best chance of surviving'. Without immediate intervention with a defibrillator, most cardiac arrests are fatal.
The DHSC Community Defibrillator Scheme pays 50% of the costs, and we need to raise the other 50% (£750) locally so we are seeking contributions, however big or small, from those who live nearby.
