Michael Bourke is fundraising for Sunnyside Community Gardens Charity No. 1092031
£2,012
Sunnyside Community Gardens (https://sunnysidecommunitygardens.org/) is an oasis of open, green space and community gardening in N19. Since 1977 we’ve supported the whole of the local community and have a particularly history of working with people with disabilities and recovering from illness.
We used to have a community building, but this was burned down in 2013. So, for ten years we’ve been working out of a converted shipping container, that‘s small, cold in winter and baking hot in summer. A new, modern building would transform the support and services we could offer!
We are fundraising for a fully accessible, welcoming and environmentally sustainable “garden room” where our volunteers, especially those with limited mobility and ill health can stay warm and dry whilst at Sunnyside. (https://sunnysidecommunitygardens.org/new-building/)
It will cost us about £365,000k to build this new building, so we’re pursuing all avenues for funds and looking to raise 1% here. That includes Michael, our Treasurer, running 21k round East London on Sunday 3 September. We would be really grateful for any and all support you could give.
He managed it in 1h52m last year, so if you’d like to make a ‘bonus’ part of your donation, he’s prepared to try and do it in under 1h50m this year!
