Dean went missing from the Stump Lake area in October of 2013. We have not had a conclusive answer to his disappearance. Multiple searches were conducted with many volunteers and organizations using a variety of technologies, and nothing has ever been found to help give the family closure.
Dean was a small business owner, former Editor of the Merritt Herald, former NDP candidate and father of three. A multi-talented man, he loved travel, art, writing, reading, culinary arts, political activism and disc golf- a sport recently embraced by Merritt.
With the announcement of a new disc golf course coming to Merritt, the family would like to either place a memorial bench or marker on the course or sponsor a hole. The funding amount is for a bench and is what his kids would most like to purchase. We would add a small dedication plaque and include one of his favourite quotes:
Not the old
Not the new
But the necessary
~ Vladimir Tatlin
Thank you for reading this. We would like to move through the parts of our grief that we cannot process due to the circumstances. Any financial support would greatly help our healing journey and help his kids get closure.
Thanks and much love, the Morrison-Rainvilles
