WHO WE ARE: Meedies Bike Club is one of the more successful and popular junior bike clubs in scotland. Established in 2009 out of a growing need for a cycling club in the area we are community led with a core group of fully qualified adult volunteers who run weekly bike sessions based at Lochore Meadows Country Park in Fife. We try support community initiatives with free activities be it in schools or community events alongside our weekly coaching sessions.
WHAT WE AIM TO DO: As we come out of lockdown and more people are riding their bikes both young and old we are hoping to visit local schools and community hubs to offer free skills based coaching and cycling activities to help young people develop more confidence and bike handling skills and to promote the use of a bike as a healthy way to travel and keep fit. We have some basic skills equipment that we've gathered over the years and in 2019 we were kindly donated some money from a local business to purchase some 'Sender Ramps' which are various custom built world leading bike features and coaching equipment for all abilities. We hope to raise £2000 to purchase some more of these ramps to help us develop a mobile skills coaching set up we can use in local schools and communities and events. We hope to raise these funds through crowdfunding and donations.
