Who are we?
We are Medway Archers, we are a small local archery club situated on the River Medway in the heart of the Medway towns
The club is open to people of all ages and abilities, we have a strong policy of inclusion with members from all walks of life and parts of the community.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The area we shoot in is used all year round and the entrance area is now nothing short of a mud bath. It never has chance to recover as it is in constant use and as a result members with mobility issues struggle to use the facility now and we can’t invite others from other clubs because of the state of the ground.
We want to cover the area with artificial grass/sports surface so that the area is presentable, professional and more importantly accessible for those in wheelchairs and who have mobility issues.
How we’ll spend the money raised
We will use the money raised purely for this project, to put the new surface in and to create an area that is suitable and accommodating for all the archers
Community impact
Once this is done it will allow the club to open the gates to more of the community. Being situated on The Strand it is ideal for summer open days and have-a-go sessions but we need the ground to be welcoming.
For the community this will bring the benefit that archery becomes more available and more can enjoy the sport with us.
