Its me again. Miss Venus😊
For those who may not know me already. My name is Haylee Venus and I am a creative, an advocate for change and a social entreprenuer based in North London. I have a passion for people and using creativity as a medium to create life enriching experiences.
From my own journey, I know and have seen what accessing and developing creative skills can do for you, even when facing your toughest challenges.
I started Make A Step 9 years ago with just this in mind, " Imagine if we could share and develop transferable skills and creativity with young people in a safe and nuturing setting which inspires them to tap into their greatness and see their value in their community"
And this is where it began.
What am I up to this time? ☺️👣
Well not only will we have the privilege of delivering our 3rd project at Bella Rehabilition Centre but this will be Make A Step's 15th International Trip since starting in 2015. How amazing is that, and even better you have the chance to be a part of it this time 😊
On the 29th of August Miss Roslyn,Miss Dayo and I, will travel to Nairobi to deliver our creative arts programme at Bella Rehabilitation Centre.
Why Bella Rehabilitation Centre?
BELLA Rehabilitation Centre is a community charitable organization seeking to improve the living conditions of orphaned, vulnerable children (OVC), youths and women in slums of Nairobi (especially in areas Kibera and Dagoretti). BELLA organizes many projects: initiatives, counselling, AIDS enlightenment and provides education for children from slums.
BELLA does such amazing work they have over 100 students, from ages 1 to 16 and are not government yet serve with so much integerity. This is why we aim to continue to collaborate with Bella to build a long term relationship of growth and sustainability.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
Our Target to raise is £2000 to facilitate our creative arts programme. This will assist us in acquiring the art materials needed for each workshops and after we leave,shipping costs,travel to and from place of work,hire fees, sports equipment, and printing/admin costs.
