I am Carly, I am a 38 year old mum with a full time job, and a BIG dream! (I know it’s a long posts, but reading until the bottom, makes the world of difference.)
The Why
12 months ago (after a 3 year waiting list battle) my daughter was diagnosed with ASD and a variety of other mental health issues, and around the same time my husband had a major heart attack (at 44) leaving him with chronic heart failure and a ticking clock.
For the first time I really started to think about what I am doing with my life, and if this is really want I want to do, when tomorrow is not promised and very soon my life (and future) will look very different.
The What
I have spent 20 years working in private and public sectors in project management, business, finance, logistics, data analysis, marketing and so many more 'business support functions'.
About 6 months ago, I started to think about how good it would be to do ‘this’ for myself! A business that focuses on being the 'support functions'. Which is where Mastermind BS (business solutions not the other word) came in.... We do the marketing, the website, the data analysis, the project management, brand management, coaching & mentoring, plus a whole lot more. All of your support functions from one place, delivered by experts in their field, but enthusiasts.
Once Mastermind is up and running my aim for the future is to be the local (or bigger) company that children's mental health groups can come to for business and marketing support, for free social media tips and free support group flyers and leaflet design etc. And eventually, be able to offer work experience, as well as workshops in basic computer or marketing skills, for teenagers with ASD and mental health struggles. Giving them an opportunity to learn about business functions, and get real experience in a safe space.
The Need
The reason I am on here....
Like so many I don't have an abundance of spare cash around to get my dreams off the ground, mainly an idea, an MSc (about 10 other training qualifications I devoured over the past 18 months), a 15 y/o cheering me on and a insane passion and work / social ethic to get this right and make it big.
My aim is to try and raise funds to launch the business with the capacity and the best software, to start supporting new or small businesses getting their website and socials up and running. To support market research activity and data analysis for small businesses, create media, flyers, business cards, leaflets and anything in between.
The other aim of the fundraising is raising further money to really develop skills and training in the very best website design, and in AI for small business. So we can support businesses in the transition to using AI (if they want too) in way that makes sense, and also implement into their websites and socials in user friendly ways. All whilst creating a social support arm of the business, so we can get more teens and young adults the experience they need, to get into a job they love.

I don't know whether my story will resonate with any other people out there or be anywhere near the type of thing you want to give money to support, but I am going to keep working on this dream, this business and this future.
