A bit about the film: Margaret’s Morning is an upcoming short film following a lonely assistant’s plot to murder her boss in the name of unrequited love, resulting in disastrous consequences for the rest of the office, including a reserved cleaner who has to choose between following his heart or the law.
Despite its seemingly dark premise, it’s actually a comedy. With no dialogue and a narrator with killer wit (literally), we want to transport viewers into this odd and rather kitschy world, but to do that we need your help.
Your money will go towards everything from taking good care of our cast down to the mug our titular character will drink her tea from. More specifically:
Craft services - We’ve been very generously provided our location for free, but we might be pushing our luck if we help ourselves to their food and coffee. Your donations will ensure everyone on set is fed and watered and can bring their A game.
Transport expenses - Our office location is a fair journey for cast and crew, and whilst it might be an interesting challenge if we don’t have our characters or cameras on set, we’d rather they were!
Speaking of set, props and costume are a major element to creating the rather theatrical vision we have for the film, so a portion of funds raised will go towards dressing the set and our wonderful talent. Hint: there’ll be a LOT porcelain cats, and a rather bright pink jumper.
Festivals - We’re an ambitious group and from day one we’ve had the goal of being able to submit Margaret’s Morning to a range of film festivals, but this does come with a cost.
Any donation will help bring this vision to life, and for that we’re extremely grateful - we want to give back in any way we can and have made rewards available for your kind contributions.
THE TEAM
Just a bit about the wonderful and ambitious group behind the film.
Aoife, our dutiful Producer, who brought the film to life when she found our perfect location and already has the solution when you come to her with a problem.
Chester, our Cinematographer, who’s always thinking outside the box and has mastered the art of the Whip Pan.
Joe, our dependable Editor, who crafts impeccable comedic timing and is keen to intertwine a mix of snappy transitions to drive the narrative stylistically.
Josh, our diligent Sound Designer, who has worked studiously to ensure he will capture the right sound effects that help bring the humour to the film.
Megan, our Production Designer, with great attention to detail and an endless curated list of references for the visuals of the film.
And myself, Nyah, the Writer and Director of this film who just had an idea of the underdog getting her revenge (and perhaps happy ending…) and is SO thrilled to continue working with her crew as they head into production!
We’re really excited for this project, and we hope you are too. Again, we want to thank you for your help, we are truly grateful.
