We (Olivia and Nathan) created our play Marble Cake to explain to audiences the intimate struggles of being mixed-race and feeling caught between two cultural identities. Trying to navigate ourselves between both black and white cultures has been difficult for us in varying ways, and we really feel that this is a story that needs to be told. We've worked extremely hard over the past two years to develop this play and perform it in several venues. Now we are taking it to Edinburgh Fringe this year which feels like the most challenging and exhilarating hurdle yet! We began this journey as two friends who wanted to tell a story and now we're here; it's hard to believe!
We'd really appreciate your support and any amount of donation that you feel able to give to help us get to Edinburgh Fringe. This fundraising will go towards our venue, accommodation, production and travel costs. Blood, sweat and tears have gone into creating, producing and performing Marble Cake up until to this point but we desperately need some extra help with this leg of the journey.
