African Vision Malawi (AVM)
Charity No. 1113786
£110
I am running the virtual London Marathon to raise money for African Vision Malawi who help Malawians to become self sufficient.
I am raising money for this charity whose aim is to establish a healthy, educated and independent community in Malawi which is among the world’s least developed countries. Malawi has a low life expectancy and high infant mortality. HIV/AIDS is highly prevalent, which both reduces the labour force and requires increased government expenditures.
African Vision Malawi projects include building schools; ensuring access to safe and clean water; establishing a self-sustaining training village with the objective of improving lives in terms of creating employment, organic farming, orphan support as well as HIV prevention; providing bicycle ambulances to ensure access to a health service and a forthcoming project is to build a Waiting Home for new mothers at a maternity unit. These are some of the many life changing projects requiring funding.
I am choosing to run for African Vision Malawi as I have very fond memories of living there for a few years in my youth and I want to see this beautiful country thrive and become totally self sufficient. Your donation, however, large or small will be gratefully received and go a long way in supporting African Vision Malawi in their quest to improve life in Malawi.
Thank you for reading and supporting this fantastic charity.
