I am raising money for Nyumbani and MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians)
Fr. Angelo D’Agostino, SJ, MD founded Nyumbani over 33 years ago after witnessing HIV-positive children abandoned in hospitals with no one to care for them. Nyumbani was Kenya’s first hospice for HIV-positive children—offering them dignity, care, and love in their final days.
With the advent of antiretroviral therapy (ARVs), Nyumbani evolved from a hospice into a children’s home, providing not just medical care but also education, emotional support, and a loving community for HIV-positive orphans. What began as a small initiative soon grew into a multi-faceted organization, reaching thousands of HIV-infected and affected children and families across Kenya.
However, recent policy changes have severed critical funding, leaving the supply chain for ARVs and anti-TB drugs at risk. Kenyan government supplies are estimated to last only six months; every moment counts as the children Nyumabani cares for face the very real threat of losing access to treatments they desperately need.
MAP works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
Since Israel's military bombardment and complete closure of Gaza began, the health system has all but collapsed. MAP has been providing aid to Palestinians in Gaza including essential drugs and disposables, hygiene kits, food packages, and shelter supplies.
Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated!
