Mac Arts & Covid-19
Like all other independent venues, we have temporarily closed the doors of Mac Arts to protect our staff, volunteers, customers and artists from Covid-19.
Our focus is now on securing the future of the venue. Mac Arts is a charity, and unfortunately we have no reserves to fall back on or other backing to turn to. We are optimistic that some financial support will be made available but, in the meantime, we urgently need to try to cover basic running costs ourselves.
With this in mind we are looking for support to raise some funds to ensure our survival whilst we remain closed.
Mac Arts has made huge progress in the last few years to promote the arts in Galashiels, and we now have a significant footprint in the Borders’ community and beyond. We have a large and varied selection of wonderful people who regularly attend our events, subscribe to our mailing list and offer their time as volunteers – this is hugely encouraging and we hope there is a lot of goodwill for us to hang on in there.
