This World Manta Day we are raising money to support the ongoing research here on InterContinental Maamunagau Resort.
The resort is situated in a prime manta feeding and cleaning aggregation, with a high presence of juvenile manta rays utilising the large Maamunagau lagoon which serves area as a sheltered area and high food abundance.
We aim to research whether Maamunagau fits the criteria to be declared an official nursery site for reef manta rays. Which will be the first study of its kind in the Maldives and the third recorded manta nursery in the world.
