My aim is to fund my University course, wanting to study further in bioplastic textiles, creating a perfect alternative from polyester.

Study

My name's Annisa I'm a fresh graduate from the University of Portsmouth and am about to start an MA at De montfot University. During my time at portsmouth, the key element that got me to join was their sustainable aproach to fashion and the sub course of Exploratory practice- where they had touched upon bioplastic. It had me intreuged, however due to time, I chose a material that would be simpler to experiment with, wood.

After nearing the end of my university experience, learning about brands such as Pangaia and Biome, and having gone to multiple innovative textile exhibitions. I want to explore and enhance the opportunity for bioplastics to be more concrete and durable- to the point it's on par with it's toxic sibling, Polyester. I don't want bioplastics to sound like a weaker alternative, but the BEST 0-toxic alternative.

How your contributions will be used

As this funding will be personal to me only, it will become a bit of support in the long run getting me necessary materials and help me pay off student loan debts.

The future that I aim to acheive after my studies is to work with either one of the two brands I mentioned, continuing my research and make my creations main stream.

After studies

Afterwards my vision is to keep up my hobbies in fashion and painting, by upcycling charity clothes as a mini online buisness on the side line, creating one off individual piece.
