We are so excited to inform you that we have successfully received funding from the London Borough of Lewisham Healthy Activities and Food Programme (HAF). We was the first provider to hit full capacity in regarding to the funding allotment.
We are now based at Brockley Baptist Church who have been incredible to accommodate us. The space is able to accommodate another 20 places that we do not have funding for. We are unable to take anymore SEN children as we are at full capacity and have a great team that are preparing to receive our regular attenders as well as a few new ones.
I do my best to ensure that the children have a FUNtastic time and this year will be no different, the funding is only for 4 hours per day, but our club runs for 6 hours (additional 2 hours per day), which give the parents and carers a little extra time to themselves.
We also would like to have a Christmas Community Party for the close of our club, this will enable children and family to have a full Christmas meal and activities on Sunday 24th December (Christmas Eve).
We need your help to top up the the funding that we are in receipt of. We have been able to secure the playground of Myatt Garden Primary School which comes at a cost (discounted for us).
We will be taking the children on two offsite trips - Pantomime at Catford Broadway to see Jack and the Beanstalk and then Lewisham Lanes Bowling. Part of the tickets are funded but not totally, so again any funds raised will cover this gap.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!! Our theme for our Winter Holiday Club will be "Light up the Place" we want our lights to shine in this dark world, I want the children and our community to know that people care and are willing to give regardless of what they are seeing.
My sister friend gave a donation yesterday directly into the companies bank account, with the reference "Light up the place"....This made my heart smile and got me thinking that maybe, someone else would love to donate and "light up the place" for a child this Christmas.
We are also running our Nancy's Community Service Meals throughout this season, Luncheon Club, Gift a meal and a Christmas Special Luncheon. We hope to use some of the funds to support individuals that are on low income and have not been socialising as an opportunity to get them out for a couple of hours, have a hot meal and sit and chat with other attendees and staff. I love this time sharing and caring.
