Aim: 5 Years - 4 Major Capital Projects - One Loughborough ready to provide rugby and social opportunities to the community of Charnwood

Who are we?

Founded in 1929 we have been providing rugby playing opportunities to boys, girls and adults in the local area for almost 100 years. With a membership of over 250+ adult players and 350+ Mini and Juniors we are one of the largest clubs in the Charnwood area.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Following feedback from members of the club, facilities where highlighted as an area that requires urgent focus. Whilst our facilities have served the club well over the last 40 years they are now in need of major modernisation and investment to serve the current demands of its members and those of the future.

We aim to deliver the following in the next 5 years in time for our centenary season.

• Upgraded Floodlights to 100 Lux allowing for both training and evening matches
• Replace the existing open changing areas with 4 modern self-contained changing rooms and 2 referees changing rooms allowing for multi-gender and multi-age activity to take place at the same time
• Upgrade male toilets to provide clean, modern and segregated space for use by non-playing members and visiting spectators
• Upgrade clubhouse social space into a warm, comfortable social space for both children and adults seven days a week

How we’ll spend the money raised

Phase One:

We have secured £50,000.00 already towards the refurbishment of the changing rooms via Rugby World Cup 2025 legacy funding. We anticipate the overall project costs will not exceed £120,000.00.

Due to the criteria of the funding we must complete this work during the 2024 off season. We have identified a number of external partner grants and require financial support from our members to meet the overall costs of this project.

If we are successful in reaching our stretch target this will allow us to deliver the gents toilet refurbishment at the same time.

Community impact

By modernising our changing facilities we will allow multi-gender use of the site 7 days a week, something we are currently unable to provide to the community we serve. We believe the opportunity to play sport should be for all, everyone should have the opportunity to access clean, safe and modern facilities 7 days a week regardless of age or gender.
