Low Tox Tap App

Aim: To build The Low Tox Tap, an app that scans any ingredient list and flags hidden toxins to help families live healthier, safer lives.

Hi, I’m Caitlin, a UK mum on a mission to cut through greenwashing and help families make safer, toxin-free choices. After losing my dad to cancer as a teen and becoming a mum myself, I became obsessed with what goes in and on our bodies. The more I researched, the more frustrated I became by the lack of transparency in products and the overwhelm of trying to decode ingredient lists.

So, I’m building The Low Tox Tap, a simple, powerful app that scans any label (food, skincare, cleaning, supplements) and instantly shows the toxicity level of each ingredient using a traffic light system. Every flagged ingredient links to real studies and plain-English explanations, no scaremongering, just facts.

The app will also recommend safer UK-based alternatives and feature a live bulletin board for low-tox news and product warnings. No bias. Just truth.
