People who know me well, know that I have the biggest fear of flying.
I’m still not quite sure how I ended up agreeing to jump out of a plane. What I do know is that I now have to go through with it and face my greatest fear, to raise money for a fantastic cause.
I wholeheartedly believe that older adults should be living their best lives and in my role as Head of Service, I’m proud to be able to lead and deliver a range of services to some of the most vulnerable adults in our county. In the last year alone we reached and supported 74,190 people!
When I think about the work we do at Age UK Lancashire I always ask myself would this be good enough for my own Nan or Grandad? And are we doing the right thing by older people across Lancashire?
The reason I’ve worked here since 2009 is because the answer to those questions is YES!
Every year demand for our services grows. People are living for longer and inevitably, age related conditions and other issues impacting our lifestyles increase as we get older. With a growing ageing population, any funds raised will help us continue delivering and developing services which help older adults stay independent in their own homes so they can enjoy their best later life, here in Lancashire.
I’m asking my friends, family, colleagues and networks to support my fundraiser for a fantastic local charity and maybe even cure my fear of flying too! Thank you!!!
