Our goal is to bring to life a stand-out comedy short film that entertains and inspires, while provoking relevant conversations and debate.

We're still collecting donations

On the 10th April 2024 we'd raised £1,165 with 33 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

A controversial new social media platform prompts its users with daily "TASKS" - three strangers come together to complete the most illegal one yet.

What?

Produced by final year university students and starring TV's Derek Hutchinson, "Lots of Sheep" is a satirical comedy short film about the digital age. The very one that has crept into our lives and our smartphones this past decade, changing our planet and its people in so many ways big and small. By creating an exaggerated fictional world, somewhere between the hyper-reality of Black Mirror and the cartoonish zest of an Edgar Wright comedy, we can explore these current themes in ways that are detailed, fascinating and funny.

Who??

We are a team of filmmakers, workers and learners, who have joined forces this year to make the best short film we can possibly achieve. Each of us hold a deep passion for the world of cinema, and are always keen to discover what we can contribute to it. We want to tell stories and aspire to take ourselves further - but fundamentally, we all love making movies with each other.

The team is helmed by Josh Matthews, a budding director who's been making his own films and shorts for nearly a decade, alone and with friends. Josh has always strived to tell honest stories about young people, in all our glory and shame, and this story will be an epitome of this sentiment.

Why???

By mixing together all these contrasting ideas and themes, we hope to present a story that is no simple lecture or statement, but rather a genuine debate about where the landscape of the social digital age might be going. Should we be laughing along? Or should we be more concerned? Can we do both?! And what does this all mean for humanity - generations both new and old...?

We're all very excited to step onto set with our training and experience gathered from the university and our own previous projects, as well as the the industry standard equipment we are gifted in our final year of study. But there's more to making a film than pointing a camera, which is why we require some assistance in getting this project to take flight.

We've already cast some truly wonderful actors, who stood head and shoulders above the crowd of auditions and applications, and are already beginning to find their first doors into this industry. We're so excited to have this talent on board the project, and emitting such passion about it, however as always we must make sure they are paid properly and professionally. This includes expenses and suitable accomodation.

Funds are also required for creative specialists on the crew, additional equipment, art department, the best possible locations, and most importantly to everyone - warm food!

We greatly appreciate support and donations of any size - everything goes to something and will massively help us deliver an amusing and thought provoking film that can be enjoyed by all.

In addition to this fundraiser, you can also support our film by spreading the word! If you know of anyone who might be interested in supporting a project like this, send them a link!
