LOOKUP Portsmouth 14th - 15th Sept 2024
LOOKUP Portsmouth is an annual street art festival that brings together the best international, national and local artists to create permanent works across the city. It actively seeks the inclusion of female street artists and other under-represented groups whilst maintaining high curatorial standards. It invests in developing female and local talent to help grow the pool of high quality artists from which it can select.
LOOKUP Portsmouth is as much a community project as an art project. Unlike most other street art festival which take place in a small area, LOOKUP Portsmouth covers the whole city taking art to people’s doorsteps. It gives opportunities for people to participate in a range of ways and prioritises those who will most benefit from the experience by partnering with organisations working with deprived communities to offer priority access to free workshops and creating exciting street art projects that can inspire and support children.
LOOKUP Portsmouth creates a shared experience for visitors who frequently comment that their favourite part of the event is seeing other people with the festival map and engaging in conversations with strangers to swap tips on where to go and what to see.
It's really important to us that the festival is free for people to attend and take part. We welcome support from those who can afford it to keep the event free of charge.
Badges will be available to collect in Southsea at the end of July or during the festival on 14th and 15th September. We will email everyone at the end of the campaign with details of where/when badges can be collected. If you want the badge posted to you please add £2 to your donation and we will arrange delivery.

We are committed to encouraging women and other under-represented groups to take part. As part of this commitment we are guaranteeing female and non-binary artists who apply for the development area will be given space to practice with support from an experienced spray paint artist. Your support will cover the costs of one artist taking part. You will get an exclusively coloured pin badge that recognises your support for inclusion.

We want to bring the world's best street artists to Portsmouth. This reward will allow us to pay an artist's travel and accommodation costs, hire a scissor lift, buy paint, pay the artist, set up the site safely and publicise the new mural.
