Help complete our Lockdown Lives Short Films!

When Lockdown struck, and the theatres and screen industry closed, Ben Caplan felt a need to keep creative, to make work in spite of what was going on in the world, and fundamentally to keep actors, active. Lockdown Lives Short Films came into existence. Ben reached out to writers and selected a number of scripts from a pool of wonderful offerings. After approaching other creatives and actors, we put teams together in order to make films – from home, over Zoom, and just once, live in person during September when we were allowed to meet! All of this we did as artists because we wanted to keep making work, to find creative freedom and expression in the dark days. There was no financing, no payment, just passion and hard work. We have now successfully completed 4 short films and are very proud of them. The thing is, we want to share them! With no expectations, we’ve now discovered that we want to submit them to festivals, to get them seen and share the work with colleagues, friends, strangers, to bring us together again in this second Lockdown when freedom of expression remains so important. Festivals cost money. We also have another two films in production that both need special effects. And once we are finally out of Lockdown, we would like to screen them all in person so that we can come together to celebrate their (and our) release! So we are reaching out in the hope that you might be able to help us… We would like to raise some money to get these films out there…
