LCDC is a charitable company limited by guarantee which covers the area including the villages of Lochcarron, Strathcarron and Kishorn, in Wester Ross on the North-West Coast of Scotland. The primary aim of LCDC is to regenerate the local community by developing projects that deliver socio-economic and environmental benefits, managing community land and associated assets to support sustainable development – meeting the needs of the present without compromising the needs of future generations. Established: 1992.

Our Mission
LCDC is on a mission to replant Kirkton Woodland (pictured above). In the past, the woodland was a commercial timber plantation, but the local community voted overwhelmingly to restore it using only native species such as birch, rowan, hazel, oak and willow. To enable us to plant new trees and also help with carbon sequestration (removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere), we invite you to buy your own trees - for yourself, as a gift to a loved one or to commemorate somebody's life. Just £5 buys one tree and £50 buys 12 trees, and for another £10 we will send you a certificate to acknowledge your gift.
