Little but LIVE! was Paperback Theatre's hopeful response to COVID-19 and its impact on the performing arts and events industry. We started in 2020 on a shoestring budget, looking to provide some live entertainment to the people of Moseley and beyond, as well as work for a range of local artists and companies who had seen their gigs vanish during the pandemic.
We received such a warm welcome that we came back the next year, a little bigger and bolder as the world began to slowly emerge from the pandemic; and we are returning this year with another broad and diverse programme of the best arts and culture Birmingham has to offer.
Little but LIVE!s aims will always be to provide an affordable and enjoyable festival that welcomes everyone. We have always capped tickets at £5.00 but are aware that not everyone can afford this (especially in the current crisis) so this year we have been awarded Arts Council England funding to help us provide free tickets to all our workshops and participatory events as well as providing more support to local artists by growing the festival.
However, the funding doesn't cover everything, and so we are looking for people who feel able to support the longevity of the festival, and help us provide more free tickets to those who would not otherwise be able to attend, by donating here.
Little but LIVE! will run from Friday 16th - Sunday 18th September in Moseley Park, Birmingham, details of the programme can be found on our website www.paperbacktheatre.com
