The global COVID-19 pandemic has created a very uncertain landscape for  thousands of our Local UK health workers . . .

Over 15500 visors donated for free!

So, this will be our last update. I feel quite sad, but also very humbled to have run this project and help make such a difference for so many people. It has been a team effort, and a huge one at that.

We stopped printing yesterday, and gave out our last donations, although we do still have a few hundred in stock, should anyone else need any.

We have offered 2 of our donated printers to a local special needs school, for free, having given them a service and replaced various parts. I do hope they get a good use, and its great to pass on a bit of this project to another cause and keep the spirit running for longer. We also have a small surplus in funds, which will be donated to a suitable charity in due course - I will round this up to £250.

The most important thing I do want to say is a huge THANK YOU to you all, for your money, well wishes and just general gratitude towards us for doing this wonderful thing.

During this time, my wife and I have gained a whole new respect for the workers in front line healthcare, and some not so front line. Its been emotional, rewarding, and really help us personally to keep our minds focused and not become mentally challenged.
We have also been inspired to do more with our 3D printing, and have just purchased a mammoth highly accurate printer, that I hope will be used to manufacture prosthetic, 3D printed casts etc. Its early stages, with lots of research and development already ongoing, but given the difference we made in the last 2.5 months, I'm sure we will succeed. Stay tuned.

We hope you all stay safe, and whatever your circumstances, we wish you and your families all well as we hopefully start to return to some normality.

Thank you to you all

Tim, Sarah & the rest of the Lincoln 3D Printing Face Shields Group.
