We're still collecting donations
On the 1st June 2023 we'd raised £430 with 19 supporters in 119 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We've organised an exhibition to raise funds for a beach cleanup in Cameroon, our aim is to raise awareness of the plastic issue in Africa.

On the 1st June 2023 we'd raised £430 with 19 supporters in 119 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If you have been following us along this journey you would know back at the start of 2022, we started raising funds to launch our clothing brand, thanks to you all we reached our target and on the 28th of February our website went live. Now we're here a year later thriving thanks to you all! We knew for our 1st launch-day we wanted to combine all the arts here to truly celebrate the creatives we have here in Scotland; which is how the LIMBE Exhibition came about.
The LIMBE Exhibition took place Saturday 18th February 2023 at The Pearce Institute in Glasgow, Scotland, here you had the opportunity to enter the creative scene of Scotland; with performances from our very own Lauren Glancy, Viv Latifa, Vur and 1BLUDDANCECLUB. There was a film following p a t s y, our CEO, as she travels and builds the African diaspora streetwear brand BAMILEK LTD; a fashion show showing the development of our style this past year, alongside a few pieces we will be releasing in our new collection called LIMBE; and throughout the exhibition there was different art pieces, that had been donated, displayed which were up for auction. We choose the theme 'your best self' which meant whatever your own personal style may be, we want you to wear your most top tier outfits!
What are we raising money for?
To clean up our oceans, to put to briefly. Do you remember going to the beach maybe 5/10 years ago and we would all be squeamish and laughing when we would get ourselves caught on seaweed? We kind of found it disgusting but it was okay because that’s where they belong you know; they live in the ocean. Now when you go to the beach though you get your feet tangled in more plastic than you do seaweed and that is not okay.
If you did not know the some of the heritage behind BAMILEK LTD come from Cameroon, so we have decided to organise a beach clean-up over there more specifically in Limbe. Sometimes we forget the countries on the frontline of this climate crisis like, Cameroon who has a serve plastic pollution issue. We want to create a link to help one another out starting with cleaning the water we all have a hand in polluting.
Fashion is one industry polluting our environment the most through the waste of misprints, fast fashion, and just not know how to dispose of our clothes properly. So we will be organising a clothes drive + working with local businesses to retrieve a lot of the clothes that would have ended up in the bin. Which we will then bring with us when we go to Cameroon to share with local organisations like sports clubs, orphanages, and art centres.
