Why We Need Your Support
In Forest Gate, Manor Park, Barking and Dagenham, the rates of homelessness, addiction, and social exclusion are rising. Many of the people we work with are sleeping rough, going without food, and struggling to access even the most basic essentials.
At LightUpGlo, we provide:
✅ Hot meals and food packs
✅ Hygiene and care packages
✅ Sleeping bags and warm clothing
✅ Recovery and rehabilitation support
✅ One-to-one emotional and practical guidance
But we want—and need—to do more.
What We’re Raising £10,000 For
We're aiming to raise £10,000 to expand our services and launch new community projects:
🔹 £3,000 – Food and Care Packages
To continue feeding rough sleepers and provide essentials like sleeping bags, hygiene products, warm clothing, and clean socks.
🔹 £4,000 – Rent a Community Base
We want to secure a dedicated space in Barking—a safe drop-in centre where people can warm up, connect, talk, get support, and start their recovery journey.
🔹 £2,000 – Launch a Volunteer Program
We're building a peer-led volunteer initiative where people in recovery can give back, gain skills, and support others on their journey.
🔹 £1,000 – Admin, Insurance & Safety
To cover the background work that keeps us running safely—volunteer training, insurance, health & safety equipment, and basic operational costs.

🧍🏽♂️ Jason, 37, was sleeping rough after leaving prison. With our help, he accessed rehab and now mentors others in recovery.
🧍♀️ Maria, 25, fled domestic abuse and had nothing but a backpack. We provided essential care, helped her get housing, and supported her emotionally.
🧍🏽 Kevin is a recovering alcoholic who now volunteers with LightUpGlo: “This saved my life. I’m proud to be part of the team now.”
How Your Money Helps
Every donation makes a difference. Here’s what your support can do:
£5 = A hot meal and hygiene kit
£15 = A full care package including sleeping bag, socks, food
£30 = One week’s food and support for a rough sleeper
£50 = Rent support for the drop-in base
£100 = Volunteer training & mentoring resources
Whether it’s £5 or £500, your contribution goes directly to supporting those in need. We promise transparency and will provide updates as we reach milestones.
